UAS is thrilled to announce the appointment of Natasha Chaykowski as our new Director.

Natasha Chaykowski is a curator, editor and writer, who holds an MA in art history from York University. She co-curated the annual Emerging Artist Exhibition at InterAccess in Toronto, was the co-recipient of the 2014 Middlebrook Prize for Young Canadian Curators. Chaykowski has curated exhibitions at the Banff Centre, and has forthcoming projects at The New Gallery in Calgary and AKA Artist-run in Saskatoon. She was the editorial resident at Canadian Art Magazine in 2014, and the Curatorial Research Practicum at Walter Phillips Gallery, the Banff Centre from 2015-2016. Her writing has been published in Carbon Paper,esse: arts + opinionsCanadian Art, momusBlackflash and the Journal of Curatorial Studies, and she has contributed to catalogues produced by Gallery 44, Walter Phillips Gallery and Art Mûr.

Chaykowski comes to UAS with much experience in exhibitions, programming and publications. We look forward to working with her as we continue to create critical spaces and contexts for emerging artists.
